On her new album Tomorrow We´ll Figure Out The Rest, Silje Nergaard has composed a collection of beautifully melodic songs inspired by classic jazz standards. Songs about life and love - universal themes that we can all relate to. „This was my parent´s pop music, songs they sang and danced to. I grew up with this music and it became an important inspiration for me when I started to write my own songs. Jazz has always been at the heart of everything I´ve created and was the inspiration to make an album of my own personal jazz standards“. With this album, Silje returns to her jazz roots where it all began in 2001 with the Grammy nominated, At First Light, which opened the door for her on the international jazz scene. This new collection of songs was recorded with her longtime Norwegian jazz trio and the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra with impeccable arrangements by multi-Grammy award winner, Vince Mendoza. Silje’s trio of musicians have played a vital part in her career. All three unique and brilliant instrumentalists help to create an intimate jazz mood whilst bringing a dynamic, playful, poetic and Nordic sound to her accomplished, haunting and mesmerizing live performances. Silje describes the bond with her musicians ‘Like family!
